Why We’re Eliminating Our Joining Fee!
For over 25 years, Cambrian Savings & Loans has been a cornerstone of the Welsh community, built on the principle of providing ethical, fair, and affordable financial services. We’re member-owned, and our purpose is to help you build financial resilience, save regularly, and borrow wisely. Today, we are taking a significant step to making joining our family easier than ever.
We're excited to announce that we are eliminating our joining fee. We believe that getting started on your financial journey with a trusted, community-focused institution should be as simple and welcoming as possible.
This decision reflects our ongoing commitment to you, our members, and to the communities we serve across Wales. While some financial institutions still charge monthly fees for accounts, our new policy is designed to put more money back into your pocket from day one. It's our way of showing that we're focused on your financial well-being, not on generating income from nuisance fees.
Our members consistently praise our friendly, patient, and professional staff who make them feel valued and respected. By removing the joining fee, we are blending this personal, high-touch approach with a modern, transparent fee structure. We’re giving you the best of both worlds: a trusted financial partner with a simple, honest pricing model.
As a not for profit cooperative, we are owned by our members. To continue this model of collective ownership, a single, transparent £5 annual membership fee will be required on the anniversary of your joining (12 months after you become a member). There is still the requirement to have £5.00 in your account at all times also.
