Yes. As a member of the Government-backed Financial Services Compensation Scheme, your total savings are protected up to the value of £120,000.
Cambrian Credit Union does not currently require a member to save before they apply for a loan.
Withdrawals are permitted for accounts used exclusively for savings. However, if an account is linked to an active loan, it will remain restricted until the loan is fully repaid
No – not unless you choose to tell them. If your repayments are coming from payroll deduction, your employer will only know that money is being sent to Cambrian Credit Union. They will not know if the money is being taken to repay a loan or to build up your savings.
Your Cambrian Credit Union savings actively support your financial well-being and the local area. Although our savings accounts do not generate interest, because we are owned by our members, when we make a profit, we share that surplus in the form of dividends. These payments are drawn from the Credit Union's successful performance and returned to you, providing a local, ethical return on your savings. This model is vital: it guarantees that our profits stay right here, circulating within the local economy to benefit the community as a whole.
One eligible member will have the chance to win £100 per month, which will be paid directly into their credit union account
A eligible member will be picked randomly and contacted up to 10 days into the following month
To be eligible for the draw, members must save at least £2.50 per week or £10 per month into their Regular Savers Account and we would need to see your savings pot growing month on month from the activation of the account.
