About Us

Supporting communities, whatever the reason

Cambrian Savings & Loans has supported communities for over 25 years with access to ethical, fair and affordable financial services. Live or work in Wales? Join us today!

The Credit Union Difference

  • As a credit union we are owned and controlled by the people, or members, who avail of our services.

  • We operate to promote the well-being of our members.

  • We are governed by a volunteer board of directors elected by you, our members, to manage our credit union.

  • All money saved with us is protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme - exactly the same as savings in a bank or building society.

  • We have arrangements with over 40 local companies, local authorities and health services to enable our members to make savings directly from their wages.

  • Profits made by us are returned back to our members in the form of reduced fees, higher savings rates and lower loan rates.

Our Mission & Values

‘Cambrian Credit Union exists to provide access to financial services for our community and to offer a responsible alternative to high cost credit’.

We believe in:

  • Respect
  • Trust
  • Excellence
  • Co-operation
  • Empowerment

Our Vision

Wales will be a place where the financially vulnerable do not fall victim to high cost lenders.

We will have a growing membership in control of their finances by being a well known source of fairly priced credit, a safe place for savings and by promoting financial capability.

We will be a respected advocate for the credit union movement in Wales and a tireless opponent of high cost credit.

We will be attracting able and talented people and organisations to support our cause.
