Visiting MP and AM back revamped credit union offices
Arfon MP Hywel Williams and AM Sian Gwenllian have given their backing to the relaunch of Cambrian Credit Union’s Caernarfon Office. They have pledged their support for the community-based financial organisation and urged locals to consider taking up low-cost financial support services.
Mr Williams said: “This is an excellent resource for the community and I want to congratulate all those involved in the relaunch. I hope it goes from strength to strength. Credit Unions offer an alternative to high street banks and to other high interest lenders, including loan sharks, who prey on vulnerable people in difficult circumstances. As a member myself, I’m aware of the vital service Credit Unions provide to local people, providing loans at an affordable rate and affording individuals and families the opportunity to regularly save. I’m please to have been able to call by at Cambrian Credit Union’s redeveloped office in Caernarfon and would encourage people to pay them a visit and learn about how they can access the financial services on offer.”
Cambrian Credit Union is the largest Credit Union in Wales with more than 14,000 members, including around 1,500 junior savers.
