To become a full member you must be aged 16 or above but many credit unions, like ourselves, operate a junior savings scheme which encourages young people to join and develop a savings habit.

At the age of 16 junior members will automatically become full members but by law must wait a further two years before being eligible to apply for a loan.

Cambrian Credit Union welcomes junior savers – click for an Application Form.

All new junior accounts will need an adult trustee, so ask your parents to help you.

Please note: All applicants are required to provide proof of their identity and that they live or work in the counties of Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Powys or Wrexham. This is required for both the junior member and the adult trustee. For the junior member, we need to see a passport or birth certificate and a proof of address such as a child benefit letter. There are many documents that can be used for a full list just ask your local office.
